SKATEBOARDING LEGEND TONY ALVA CHRISTENS RAMP AT EXTREME HOTELS

April 2005 - Boardheads from all over the world watched in a near trancelike state as skateboarding legend Tony Alva officially christened the newly completed skate ramp "Six Feet Under" at Extreme Hotels, the world's first hospitality venue that caters exclusively to action sports enthusiasts. Alva joined pro athletes from the kiteboarding, wakeboarding, surfing and skateboarding word in March to help launch the grand opening of eXtreme's flagship property Extreme Hotels - Cabarete.

Alva and longtime friend, Andy Kessler, charged the ramp while Southern California's Slightly Stoopid jammed out their latest reggae/ punk rock tunes. Alva, of Dogtown and Z Boys fame said, "I've traveled to many places in the world and Cabarete is definitely special. You can surf in the morning, kite in the afternoon, and skate all evening if you want, just steps from your hotel room. All the different nationalities just get along because they share a passion to ride and play hard. There's no localism, no drama. Just a good time with good people! I'll definitely be back."

The 20-room hotel is directly on Kite Beach, recognized as one of the best places on the planet for the fastest growing water sport of kiteboarding. To round out the extreme sport experience, the middle of the property is home to the world's first below ground professional skateboard fun ramp, "Six Feet Under." The 39'x42' fun ramp was designed by Helmut Ludwig and Hans-Peter Hutter, former top European skateboarding pros, and is already attracting the attention of skateboarders internationally. eXtreme Hotels -Cabarete is just minutes from top-notch surfing at Encuentro Beach, home to the annual Latin Surf Classic. "Six Feet Over," a reef break for intermediate to advanced surfers is directly in front of the property. Wakeboarding, paintball, Scuba diving, motocross, canyoning, river rafting, mountain biking, hiking, golfing and scenic tours are also close by.

Often referred to as the "Adventure Capital of the Caribbean," Cabarete was a sleepy little fishing village just 15 years ago. It is now a well known, world class destination for windsurfing, kiteboarding and surfing and has hosted numerous international action sports competitions. Restaurants and clubs line the beach and main street offering anything from typical Dominican meals of meat, rice and beans to Italian, Chinese and fine French cuisine. More known to Europeans and Canadians, Cabarete has recently enjoyed a surge in popularity amongst local Dominicans, Puerto Ricans and Americans, adding to the lively nightlife and international flavor of the seaside town.

"eXtreme Hotels was motivated by my personal experiences of trying to find great surfing spots," said Extreme Hotels owner Bill Lee. "Business travelers have their favorite franchises that they turn to for consistency in convenience, amenities, services and locations, but no such synonymous brand exists in the action sports world - so, I decided to start my own!" He continued, "We want to provide everything the adventure traveler needs to have the ultimate experience -- great accommodations, nightlife, and access to a variety of action sports in a beautiful location."

Lee has scouted other sites in Brazil, Panama, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Nevada and Europe but has not selected eXtreme Hotels' next destination at this time. However, he is leaning toward his next property involving snow and plans to open other eXtreme Hotels within 12-24 months.

eXtreme Hotels is privately financed by West Coast Holdings, a US based investment firm founded by Bill Lee, a former technology CEO and executive. Management has scouted other sites in Brazil, Panama, Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Nevada but has not selected the next destination at this time. The eXtreme vision is to open the next location within 12-24 months. For more information on West Coast Holdings, please visit www.westcoastholdings.com.
